The Roku Advanced Layout Editor (RALE) is a graphical tool that lets you debug screen layout by examining and modifying the client’s SceneGraph. To learn more about RALE, see the Roku documentation.
Remember the following:
To use RALE, you must load the
client.zip file using RALE.
This step is required as RALE injects a component(
TrackerTask.xml) that provides communication between RALE and the Roku client.
Newer versions of RALE include helpful features such as the ability to view animations in the scene and items within our custom list component. We recommend using the latest version.
When using RALE, it’s recommended you exit the Roku client before disconnecting RALE. Otherwise, the Roku client may become unresponsive as it attempts to communicate with RALE.
To debug screen layout using RALE:
Download the latest version of RALE.
Launch the RALE app.
Click the Select a Device label located at top of the RALE app and select the connected Roku device.
